Tettnang, 11.03.2025 - The Innsbruck tourism region and the outdoor brand VAUDE have entered into a strategic partnership to jointly promote sustainable outdoor sports and responsible tourism. The official kick-off took place at the "summit meeting" on March 7 on the Patscherkofel: Surrounded by the impressive Innsbruck mountains, Barbara Plattner, Managing Director of Innsbruck Tourismus, and Antje von Dewitz, VAUDE Managing Director, signed the agreement for the future collaboration between the two brands after a joint ski tour.
Sustainability, innovation and future viability are at the heart of the cooperation between VAUDE and Innsbruck Tourismus. Together, the partners want to promote environmentally friendly outdoor activities and alpine-urban joie de vivre.
VAUDE & Innsbruck Tourismus - a connection with heart and vision
The cooperation is based on shared values and goals. Both companies are committed to protecting nature and promoting a responsible lifestyle. VAUDE as a pioneer for innovative and sustainable outdoor products and Innsbruck as a city and region located in the heart of the Alps and offering a wide range of outdoor activities - an ideal partnership with strong synergies for both brands.
VAUDE pursues an integrated sustainability strategy that focuses on minimizing the ecological footprint and developing environmentally friendly and fairly manufactured products. In order to consistently reduce global CO2 emissions, the outdoor brand has committed to an ambitious Net Zero climate strategy. VAUDE is driven by the vision of creating a better quality of life through innovative products, sustainable business practices and forward-looking solutions such as circular concepts.
"Innsbruck embodies the outdoor spirit like no other city! We are united by our enthusiasm for sustainable, future-proof solutions and our love of the outdoors and nature. We are very much looking forward to working together with Innsbruck Tourismus and implementing new ideas. This partnership is more than just a cooperation - it is a commitment to a future worth living in, in which nature, the city and people are in harmony," says Antje von Dewitz.
Innsbruck Tourism is committed to the sustainable development of the region - around a third of the Tyrolean population call Innsbruck and the surrounding area their home. As a result, those responsible also want to make the greatest possible contribution to creating a healthy living environment for residents through tourism: "We want to make the Innsbruck region an even more liveable place with our actions. In addition to investing in sustainable leisure infrastructure that benefits guests and locals alike, this also includes partnerships with like-minded people. That is why I am very pleased about the cooperation with Vaude. Our philosophies and values coincide, the alpine-urban quality of life is our common denominator. I am convinced that we can achieve more together than we can on our own," explains Barbara Plattner.
Sustainable mobility solutions promoted by Innsbruck Tourismus are also intended to strengthen the symbiosis between city life and outdoor adventures. For example, the use of public transport is being promoted via various guest cards - perfect for the short distances in Innsbruck, where ski tours, climbing and hiking start right on the doorstep and can be reached in an environmentally friendly way.
Strong presence and brand synergies
VAUDE and Innsbruck Tourismus want to bring their values to life through joint events, marketing campaigns and communication. This includes mutual integration on all official communication channels such as the homepage, newsletter, social media, brochures, etc.
In all Innsbruck Tourismus photo and film productions, the actors will wear VAUDE equipment and VAUDE shoots will preferably take place in the Innsbruck region. The cooperation should help to strengthen both brands and increase their presence and reach. VAUDE will also be the exclusive outdoor partner of Innsbruck Tourismus.
The communicative cooperation is aimed in particular at the European markets of Germany, Austria, Switzerland, Benelux and France. The markets and target groups are to be expanded through joint activities.
Two successful women at the top
Antje von Dewitz and Barbara Plattner are two women at the head of this cooperation who have successfully developed their companies. Antje von Dewitz has been Managing Director since 2009 and has transformed VAUDE into a sustainable company. Barbara Plattner took over the management of Innsbruck Tourismus two years ago. Together they not only stand for future-oriented and sustainable development, they are also inspiring role models for women in management positions.
