The statutory warranty gives you certain rights if a product does not meet the agreed-upon or legally required quality standards. You can find the most important information on this topic here in the European Union’s standardized guide.

Do I have a warranty on my VAUDE product?

The 2-year statutory warranty claim against the seller applies to all VAUDE products, regardless of our voluntary warranty.
For select VAUDE products, VAUDE Sport GmbH & Co. KG offers a voluntary 5-year durability guarantee. You can tell whether the 5-year durability guarantee applies to your specific product by checking the GARAN label, the product labeling, or the warranty information for that product.

GARAN label:

Warranty Terms

The 5-year warranty provided by VAUDE is a voluntary commercial durability warranty from the manufacturer. It is provided to you at no additional cost, applies to the entire product as marked, and is in addition to your statutory warranty rights. You can identify the applicable products by this label:

VAUDE guarantees that the entire product will maintain its required functions and performance for a period of five years from the date of purchase when used normally and for its intended purpose.
If a product covered by the durability guarantee loses its required functions or performance during these five years when used normally and for its intended purpose, a warranty claim exists.
In the event of a valid warranty claim, VAUDE will repair or replace the product for you free of charge or provide another appropriate warranty remedy.

If a repair is possible and reasonable, VAUDE may initially fulfill the warranty claim by repairing the product. If a repair is not possible or does not sufficiently restore the required functions and performance, the product will be replaced.
The five-year warranty period is calculated from the date of the original purchase. If a product is repaired or replaced during the warranty period, this does not trigger a new five-year warranty period. The warranty continues until the end of the originally applicable warranty period.
The durability warranty applies to normal and intended use of the product. It does not apply to damage or loss of function caused by use outside the intended purpose, improper use, failure to follow usage, care, or assembly instructions, improper storage, an accident, external force, or modifications not authorized by VAUDE.
Purely cosmetic changes are not covered by the warranty, provided that the product continues to fully fulfill its required functions and performance.

Important: No 5-Year Durability Guarantee for Secondhand and B-Grade Products

Secondhand: The voluntary 5-year durability guarantee does not apply to used products sold by VAUDE as secondhand. Secondhand products are not marked with the GARAN label. Statutory warranty rights for used goods are limited to one year.

B-Grade Goods: The voluntary 5-year durability guarantee does not apply to products labeled and sold by VAUDE as B-grade goods. B-grade goods are not marked with the GARAN label. The statutory warranty period for B-grade goods is two years.

The warranty is subject to the laws of the Federal Republic of Germany. Mandatory consumer protection regulations of the country in which you have your habitual residence remain unaffected by this.

How to File a Warranty Claim

First, contact the specialty retailer or online retailer where you purchased the product. The retailer will accept your warranty claim and assist you with the next steps.

Please have your receipt or other suitable proof of the purchase date ready. Also, describe which function or performance the product no longer fulfills. Clear photos can make the inspection easier.

If you need to send in the product, the retailer or VAUDE Service will provide you with information on how to proceed and the appropriate return address. Please do not send the product in without being asked to do so. Alternatively, you can submit a request via the VAUDE contact form.

Consumer Protection Law and Statutory Warranty

The statutory warranty rights are not limited by the voluntary VAUDE Durability Guarantee.

If the product is defective, you have a statutory right to have it repaired or replaced at no cost to you by the seller. These statutory rights exist independently of the voluntary Durability Guarantee and are neither replaced nor limited by it.

The benefits provided under the VAUDE Durability Guarantee are a voluntary and free supplement to your statutory rights.
