To mark the company's 50th anniversary in 2024, we are once again setting new standards in the development of sustainable outdoor equipment with the launch of the Rupal WP 28, a waterproof version of our popular alpine backpack. Designed for demanding mountain adventures, the Rupal WP 28 combines innovative technologies with a strong commitment to environmental protection and sustainability.
High-frequency welding technology meets sustainability
The Rupal WP 28 is manufactured in VAUDE's own factory in Tettnang and is made primarily from recycled polyamide, making it a prime example of environmentally friendly production. By using high-frequency welded seams, the backpack offers a waterproof construction that provides reliable protection against moisture even under the most extreme conditions - confirmed by a water column of over 10,000mm.
Made for the mountains
With a volume of 28 liters, the Rupal WP 28 is perfect for long, demanding day tours and offers proven features for alpinists. These include a fixable rope holder under the height-adjustable lid, external holders for two ice tools or trekking poles and easily removable hip fins for comfortable use with or without a climbing harness. The Synergy Mold carrying system and a central aluminum strut ensure stability and load distribution that minimizes the weight of the pack, while ergonomic shoulder straps guarantee maximum freedom of movement. The Ergoshape shoulder straps developed by VAUDE allow maximum freedom of movement in the arms when climbing, even in an overhead position.
Functionality and comfort in every detail
The Rupal WP 28 features a snow-repellent, embossed back, a lightweight, removable hip belt, removable aluminum struts to reduce weight and a lid pocket with a waterproof zipper. Side compression straps, a stowable compression strap at the top, ice tool/pickaxe holder and a chest strap with whistle round off the well thought-out design.

VAUDE's commitment to sustainability is underlined by climate-neutral production at the company headquarters on Lake Constance, the Green Shape label and the use of bluesign® certified materials, which distinguish the Rupal WP 28 as an environmentally friendly, functional product.
The Rupal WP with 28 L volume will be available in the colors Burnt Yellow and Heron from spring 2024.
