How do I attach VAUDE bike bags?
High-quality bike bags are characterized by an uncomplicated and at the same time secure fixation to the bike. VAUDE offers a wide range of variants that are specially adapted to the size, the mounting location on the bike and the maximum weight of the bag. We attach great importance to the fact that our fastening systems are adapted to all common wheels and can be mounted without tools if possible.
Attach bicycle bags to the luggage carrier
QMR (Quick Mount Release) is a high-quality and technically sophisticated fastening system with hooks. So you can quickly mount your bike bag and remove again. The hook you can easily adapt to different tube cross-sections (8- maximum 16 mm) of the carrier with the help of the included adapters. For thicker bars there is no adapter.
Also, always make sure that you hear the click sound when closing. Only then is it guaranteed that the hook is properly seated. This is especially true for racks that do not have a round linkage, but, for example, an angular or oval.

The QMR hook is lockable with the help of a lock directly on the carrier. So you can leave your bag without risk times simply on the bike.
Requirements for the lock: Diameter shackle to a maximum of 3 mm. The shackle should be at least 2 cm long.
.

The hooks of the upper and lower guide rails are freely movable and can be individually adjusted to your carrier. It is important that the lower guide hook is locked in the direction of travel, so you avoid an accidental unhooking of the bag during strong braking maneuvers.
Note: If you are not sure whether the hooks are locked tightly enough or the hooks can no longer be released with the rotary wheel, you can simply use an Allen wrench. All screws are accessible from the outside.

How to avoid chafing on the rack and frame
At the points where our panniers are connected to the rack and frame of the bike, depending on the workmanship and quality of the paint, chafing or damage may occur.
Due to their construction, bike bags do not offer a 100% rigid connection between bag and carrier or frame. Due to the vibrations when cycling, especially on rough ground or terrain, permanent friction occurs at the connection points.
Remedy:
- a tight fit of the QMR hooks (with the correct diameter reducers) on the luggage carrier tube
- the correct placement of the QMR Rail Hook
- the application of frame protection films (available at most bicycle dealers).
Here's how hard back and soft back bicycle bags differ

The Soft Back pannier back builds on the Hard Back technology but eliminates the full enclosing plastic panel resulting in a lower overall weight. Maximum load: 10 kg per bag.

The Hard Back 2.0, a hard-shell bag back, is made of sturdy plastic and is extremely resistant to impact and abrasion. The heavy-duty edges are equipped with non-slip feet, and the lower guide hook can be rotated freely through 360°. So you can individually adapt the bag to all carrier linkages. Maximum load: 12.5 kg per bag.
Plug and Ride
Some VAUDE bike bags are equipped with the Plug and Ride system, a removable attachment rail. The ability to attach the bag at an angle prevents your heels from getting caught when pedaling. If you use the bike bag as a shoulder bag, the rail just comes off so that nothing presses. Maximum load: 10 kg per bag.

MIK (Mounting.is.key) click system for luggage carrier
MIK is a revolutionary click system for luggage carriers. Accessories of all types and brands can be exchanged and attached. The system also has an integrated lock to prevent casual theft.

iRack
iRack is a connection adapter between luggage carrier bag and luggage carrier. The bag is put on, pushed forward and locks with a click. To remove, simply pull it off again.

Snap it
The Snapit adapter connects your carrier bag reliably with the carrier. As soon as you put the adapter on the luggage carrier and push it slightly forward, it snaps into the carrier with a click. If you lift the release lever, the adapter can be easily separated from the carrier with a handle.
Snapit is also adaptable to narrow Racktime luggage carriers.

UniKlip
Bike bags and boxes with the UniKlip mounting system can be used on a wide variety of carriers without additional adapters.
- Automatic adaptation to luggage carriers (10 - 16 mm diameter)
- Adaptable to luggage carrier widths from 9 - 16 cm
- Can also be used with integrated battery
- Compatible with V-shaped carriers
- Integrated anti-theft protection
- Maximum load: 10 kg

Attach bags to saddle and seat post
Twist adapter
When attaching with the twist adapter, a plug adapter is mounted between the saddle stays, onto which the saddle bag is easily plugged and fixed with a half turn.

Contour adapter
With the help of a KLICKfix Contour adapter, VAUDE bike bags can be latched directly onto the seat post. By means of a clamp, the adapter is fixed to the post.
Then you only need to hang the bag on the corresponding device. A push of a button is enough to release the bag again.
Attention: Not suitable for carbon seatposts!
Clamps enclosed for diameters 25-32 mm and 32-36 mm

Velcro fastener
Our Ultralight bags are fixed with a weight-saving Velcro fastener. This is simply wound around the struts of the saddle and closed.

VAUDE bike bags attach to the handlebar - this is how it works
is a quick and secure way to attach handlebar bags. When hooking the adapter of the bag automatically engages in the bracket fixed to the handlebar. One press on the red button is enough to release the bag again. By the way:

This is how VAUDE bicycle bags are attached to the frame
Our frame bags can be fixed similar to the lightweight saddle bags with a light Velcro. In this case, several Velcro straps are simply wound around the frame and closed.

Instructions
Only when the bike bags are firmly mounted, there are no unwanted inherent movements and also no changes in the driving behavior. Nevertheless, they should be easy to remove from the bike, so that you can quickly have your luggage at hand during a break or after a busy day.
Basically, the closer a load is to the wheel, the less shear forces are generated when riding and the lower the risk of getting stuck somewhere unintentionally.
