50 years of VAUDE - experiencing nature, shaping the future

1974 to 2024—from an early pioneer to an outdoor brand for carefree experiences in nature: For five decades, VAUDE has combined a spirit of innovation with a love of nature. From groundbreaking backpack designs to functional outdoor apparel made primarily from renewable or recycled materials, all the way to our secondhand business model—our journey is marked by continuous innovation.

As a family-owned company, VAUDE is committed to reducing the environmental impact of its business operations. We transparently detail the specific measures we’re implementing and the goals we’re pursuing in our climate strategy in our sustainability report.

One example of this is the VAUDE Rethink product line. These products were developed with end-of-life recycling in mind: they consist largely of recycled polyester. Components made from other materials are designed to be removable. In this way, we are already laying the groundwork today to better separate the materials used after their service life and reuse them as raw materials.
