The new Monviso Down Jacket is all natural. The wind- and water-repellent outer shell as well as the cozy lining are made of a biobased polyamide with 62 % castor oil. This insulated jacket has a high-quality, RDS-certified 90/10 duck down fill with a fill power of 850 cubic inches. This creates an excellent warmth-to-weight ratio and unbeatable high-loft wearing comfort. All natural, superbly warm – and of course, it packs down small.
All pockets are easily accessible, even when you're wearing a pack and a harness. Thanks to a two-way zip, it's also a perfect choice for a belay jacket in frosty weather.
Simply the best nature has to offer
For the robust outer shell, VAUDE has used a new fiber made from biobased polyamide (PA 6.10 with 62 % castor oil), which was developed together with the polymer specialist Evonik and is also featured in our Summer 21 trekking pants. It's not just the CO2 balance that's impressive in this renewable raw resource (natural growth, no irrigation or pesticides) – it's also the functional properties of the biobased polyamide. The material is somewhat lighter than conventional polyamide, has a higher fiber strength, is 50 % more elastic and absorbs half as much moisture – which is a significant advantage for outdoor sports apparel.
Strict environmental protection
Of course, VAUDE has focused on equally high quality in the selection of the down fill as well as a certified origin with the RDS standard for a seamless supply chain. This global standard established in 2014 aims to ensure that ducks and geese from which down is obtained are kept in accordance with various animal welfare criteria (no live plucking, no foie gras fattening, external monitoring, etc.). Each RDS product has a QR code you can use to trace its particular down fill back to the farm where it originated.
VAUDE uses only PFC-free EcoFinish for its water-repellent impregnation which means no environmentally harmful compounds containing fluorocarbons.
Alpine design
In addition to these ecologically impressive core values, the Monviso Down Jacket also features great looks. Diagonal quilting, a progressive V-shape design and color blocking are flattering highlights, whether you're hitting the slopes or on a winter tour in the mountains.
The Monviso Down Jacket is available as a men's version in two color styles and will be available in stores starting in fall 2021. (RRP 380,- EUR)
