Thankfully, cold winters are still with us – even if they've become less predictable due to climate change. That means that nature-loving kids need to be as flexible as possible when it comes to their choice of outerwear. The apparel developers at VAUDE have taken this fact to heart and have come up with the Kids Limax Insulation Jacket, an eco-friendly insulation jacket that can defy the elements, features a kid-friendly design and can be worn for all kinds of activities.
Warm, eco-friendly heat pellets
The fill of this insulation jacket is made of HeatSphere Eco, a synthetic insulation that dries twice as fast as conventional down. Like the outer shell of the jacket, HeatSphere Eco is made from recycled polyester and absorbs 30 % less moisture than down. The fluffy pellets are made from 100 % recycled PET bottles and contain absolutely no animal components – but at the same time they are very similar to down. They're lightweight, highly elastic, warmer than any fill batting and also insulate even when damp without clumping together.
The advantages are obvious: the Kids Limax Insulation Jacket dries in a flash and never loses its loft. If it does get wet, it'll be dry again for the next day's use for forest kindergarten or school.
Zip-in functionality
The Kids Limax Insulation Jacket can be worn on its own or zipped into to almost any VAUDE 3in1 jacket. The jacket itself is wind- and water-resistant. However, if you combine it with a 3in1 jacket, you get a powerful duo for truly cold winter days.
Resource-conserving warmth
As with other VAUDE products, the product developers were primarily concerned with conserving petroleum resources, using a high percentage of recycled materials, and constructing a product that will last for years to come. The VAUDE Green Shape label stands for environmentally friendly, functional products made from sustainable, bluesign®-certified materials.
