The familiar term 3in1 should actually be changed to 4in1 for the Elope. This jacket isn't just windproof, waterproof and extremely warm paired with the inner jacket – it also features environmentally-friendly manufacturing.
The outer shell is made from 100 % recycled polyester and features the Ceplex Green membrane, which is partially made from S-Café®, a material manufactured from recycled coffee grounds. But that's not all – the remaining fabrics of this double jacket with a sophisticated design also include recycled materials. This conserves valuable resources, lowers CO2 emissions in manufacturing and makes an effective contribution to the environmental protection that VAUDE is committed to.
Warm, eco-friendly heat pellets
For the insulated inner jacket, VAUDE uses HeatSphere Eco – a new synthetic down alternative that dries twice as fast as conventional down. Like the outer shell of the jacket, HeatSphere Eco is made from recycled polyester and absorbs 30 % less moisture than down. This innovative insulation impresses with lofty "heat pellets" that are made from 100 % recycled PET bottles and include no animal products. It can be compared with conventional down – it is lightweight, very elastic and warmer than any padded fill. In addition, it still provides insulation even when wet and doesn't clump together.
The advantages are obvious: the inner jacket dries in a flash and never loses its loft. It is also easy-care and can be washed in a washing machine whenever necessary.
Packs down small
The outer shell and inner jacket are both designed so that they can be packed into their own inner pockets. In the Women's 3in1 Jacket, powerstretch ensures greater flexibility; in the men's model, we've used a warm Stormfleece fabric. Vapor-permeable stretch inserts under the arms ensure excellent temperature regulation.
