High-performance weather protection without harmful forever chemicals

Tettnang, 20 January 2026 – PFAS (per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances) are now detectable worldwide – in drinking water, soil and the human body. These so-called “forever chemicals” are considered hazardous to health and potentially carcinogenic, as they do not break down and remain in the environment permanently. Despite these risks, PFAS are still used in a wide range of products. More than 15 years ago, VAUDE made a strategic decision to gradually eliminate PFAS from all product categories. With the Spring/Summer 2025 collection, this transformation is complete: VAUDE now fully avoids PFAS – from weather protection apparel to backpacks, sleeping bags, footwear and waterproof tents. 

Tettnang, 27.10.2025 - While central elements of the planned supply chain law (CSDDD) are being weakened at the European level, VAUDE is sending a clear signal of responsibility: The outdoor brand has been awarded Leader Status - the highest rating category of the Fair Wear Foundation - for the 11th time in a row. The independent organization has once again confirmed the outdoor brand's outstanding commitment to fair working conditions along the global supply chain - even in challenging times. Particularly pleasing: the benchmarking score was increased again - to 83 points.

Oberpfalz/Tettnang, 23.10.2025 - The premium lamp brand Lupine Lighting Systems and VAUDE, one of Europe's leading outdoor brands, are entering into an exclusive distribution partnership. From January 1, 2026, VAUDE will take over the distribution of Lupine's high-quality headlamps, torches and bike lights in outdoor and bike retailers in Germany, Austria and Switzerland.

Tettnang, 21.08.2025 - VAUDE voluntarily goes one step further: The new sustainability report of the outdoor company is already based on the European Sustainability Reporting Standards (ESRS) - without any legal obligation. VAUDE is thus deliberately going beyond the current requirements and assuming responsibility at a time when the weakening of sustainability regulations is being discussed at EU level.
