How do I replace the QMR rail hook on my pannier?

A so-called QMR rail hook on your hardback plate (fastening hook on the pannier rack, also known as a "shark's tooth") is responsible for the correct fit of the pannier on the pannier rack. It can be refitted or replaced in just a few steps.

Tools required:

Allen key, slotted screwdriver, hook, oval silver threaded plate, screw and oval black plate.

Difficulty: Easy

Duration: 10 minutes

If the defective threaded plate is still stuck in the guide rail, it can be removed using the Allen key. To do this, use the Allen key to push the threaded plate into the marked recess and press it down.

Use the screwdriver to lift the oval rail slightly and replace the defective threaded plate with the new one. Ensure that the new oval threaded plate is correctly reinserted into the guide rail.

Place the oval black plate on the guide rail at the level of the silver threaded plate. Position the shark's tooth on the black plate, place the screw and tighten with the Allen key.
