We stand by our word and consistently work towards our sustainability goals – we’ve been climate neutral at our company headquarters since 2012 and also in the global manufacturing of all our products since 2022.We are taking our word for it and consistently continuing on the path of sustainability we have embarked upon - we have been climate-neutral at our company site since 2012 and with all our products manufactured worldwide since 2022.

VAUDE is climate neutral with all products
2008: EMAS Certification
Survey of all emissions and consumption at our company headquarters in Germany. Based on the data collected, we started to systematically reduce our company emissions.
2012: Climate neutrality at our German headquarters
Our company headquarters in Tettnang and all of the products manufactured there have been climate neutral since 2012.
2019: Adoption of a global climate strategy
VAUDE joins the Science Based Targets Initiative (SBTi) on its way to climate neutrality for all products. VAUDE intends to use science based targets (SBT) do its part toward limiting global warming to a maximum of 1.5 degrees in accordance with the goals of the Paris Climate Agreement.
2021: Complete climate footprint
Our greenhouse gas emissions stemming from mobility, materials, manufacturing processes and shipping worldwide are analyzed and recorded in a climate footprint in cooperation with the independent non-profit organization, myclimate.
2021: Climate neutral transport & shipping
The transport of all VAUDE products is climate neutral – from the production facility to the customer.
2022: 50 % of the collection consist of materials with a lower CO2 footprint
In the 2022 Collection, half of all products are made primarily from recycled or bio-based materials. This demonstrates our commitment to the principles of a circular economy. The use of renewable raw and recycled materials conserves fossil resources and reduces CO2 emissions by about 50 % (depending on the material) compared to virgin materials.
2022: All VAUDE products are climate neutral
We are systematically reducing our global greenhouse gas emissions. Emissions that are currently unavoidable are fully offset by myclimate with a certified Gold Standard carbon offset project.

Our understanding of climate neutrality – systematic and transparent
1. Comprehensive analysis of all emissions
How much resources do we consume? And which of these are avoidable? Our analysis covers all direct and indirect emissions that affect the entire company, including the manufacturing of our products.

2. Reduce emissions
The most important step along our way to climate neutrality is to minimize the use of resources and thus emissions. By using renewable raw materials and recycled materials in our products, we can conserve fossil resources now and significantly reduce CO2 emissions in the production of our materials.
We joined the Science Based Targets Initiative (SBTi) in 2019 and have committed to reducing our emissions in accordance with scientifically sound climate goals.

3. Compensation with myclimate
By making compensation payments, we are pursuing an approach of offsetting all current, unavoidable emissions with certified climate protection projects. This means that the emissions we are still responsible for today will be reduced elsewhere with climate protection projects. That’s why we’re cooperating with the non-profit organization myclimate, which supports certified gold-standard climate protection projects with our compensation payments.

Our science-based climate targets
verified by the Science Based Targets Initiative (SBTi)
To achieve our climate targets, we are reducing emissions from energy consumption in the supply chain. We are also systematically increasing the proportion of climate-friendly materials in our products. By 2024, 90% of all VAUDE products will be made from at least 50% biobased or recycled materials.
By 2026: Low emissions fleet and heating
VAUDE commits to reduce absolute scope 1 greenhouse gas emissions 45% by 2026 from a 2019 base year.
By 2030: Green electricity at its German headquarters
VAUDE commits to continue annually sourcing 100 % renewable electricity through 2030 (scope 2).
By 2030: CO2 reduction in the supply chain
VAUDE commits to reduce absolute scope 3 greenhouse gas emissions covering purchased goods and services 50 % by 2030 from a 2019 base year.
