Don't be surprised if it becomes your favorite jacket! The innovative fill of the Batura Hooded Insulation Jacket makes a quantum leap in insulation technology. The puffy fill has the same properties as down – lightweight paired with great heat retention – but is made entirely from a recycled material. This synthetic down has the advantage that it keeps you warm even when wet and is relatively easy care. Insulating spheres of fiber were sewn into chambers, as is customary with down, in order to achieve the best warmth results. The jacket can be packed into the stretchy mesh inner pocket to take up even less room in your pack on the way up the mountain. The form-fitting style fits perfectly under a hardshell and the adjustable waistband will help make sure you don't become chilled once you reach your destination. Some of the backpacks' product names include size information. The designation "M" stands for medium, i.e. a medium size. This medium size is universally suitable and is perfect for most users. "L" stands for Large, i.e. a large size, "XL" for Extra Large, an extra large size. If no specific size information appears in the product name, it is usually a standard size.

A few tips on choosing the right zip position: Right-handed people choose a sleeping bag with the zip on the left, as they can comfortably reach across the body to the zip with their right hand. If you want to combine two sleeping bags, make sure you choose one with a zip on the right and one with a zip on the left. How to measure correctly?

To ensure your VAUDE clothing fits perfectly, it is important to take your measurements correctly. Here's how:

Chest: Measure the circumference at the widest point of your chest – ideally while standing upright with your arms hanging loosely at your sides.
Waist: Measure the circumference at the narrowest point of your waist – usually just above the belly button.
Hips: Measure around your hips at the widest point of your buttocks.
Inseam: Measure straight down from the top of your inner thigh (crotch) to your ankle.

Die Jacke ist leicht, hat ein geringes Packmaß und ist unempfindlich (Flecken, Zusammenpressen, Festigkeit des Obermaterials). Sie hält warm und wenn es mal wärmer ist, schwitzt man nicht gleich. Zugleich hält sich auch gut gegen Wind stand.

Die Jacke ist angenehm zu tragen und sieht gerade in der Farbe Savanna eigentlich auch sehr cool aus. Leider ist die Füllung der Jacke aber sehr sparsam ausgefallen und bereits nach der ersten Wäsche, trotz sorgfältigem ausschütteln stark verklumpt und komprimiert. So ergeben sich viele "leere" Stellen in der Jacke, welche gerade in der hellen Farbe besonders kontrastieren. Dazu kann an den leeren Stellen dann natürlich auch keine Wärme gespeichert werden. Eine etwas großzügigere Füllung oder bessere Fixierung der Füllung wäre hier doch sehr wünschenswert gewesen.

Das Wärmempfinden ist sehr individuell und wird beeinflusst durch u.a. Konstitution, Alter und persönliches Empfinden. Darüber hinaus spielen der Grad der Aktivität, die Luftfeuchtigkeit und die Wetterbedingungen eine Rolle.

Die Jacke trägt sich angenehm. Sie hält mich warm und hat ein sehr weiches Material. Außerdem lässt sich schön klein packen, so dass man sie gut im Gepäck verstauen kann.

Jacke top, aber Pflege nicht möglich

Ich habe einige Produkte von Vaude und finde sie doch meist richtig gut. Diese Jacke ist jedoch schwierig. Sie passt gut und wärmt auch angenem, insbesondere in den Pausen bei Aktivitäten. Aber sie ist leider nicht zum Waschen gemacht. Selbst exakt nach Empfehlung (mit dem teuren Nikwax und im Trockner mit Bällen) verklumpt die Füllung und lässt sich nicht wieder verteilen. Danach gibt es dann großflächige Kältebrücken. Ich weiß nicht, ob es nur mir so geht, aber die Austauschjacke (hier großes Lob an Vaude und den Service) hat die gleichen Probleme. Ich habe mich zunächst nicht getraut sie zu waschen, aber da sie dann irgendwann doch dreckig und verschwitzt war, versuchte ich es erneut. Hier wäre also Nacharbeiten angesagt, damit die Füllung nicht verrutschen kann.
