The large trekking backpack Astrum EVO 70+10 combines the best of both worlds. With plenty of storage space that's exceptionally comfortable to carry, the pack is perfect for trekking or long-distance trips with a heavy load. Taller people in particular will appreciate the large model with a whopping 70 liters of pack volume. The Tergolight Comfort Space suspension system and the well-padded hip belt distribute the load ideally and, together with the adjustable back length, ensure a perfect fit. A recess in the lower back padding reduces pressure on the sacroiliac joint relieving pressure on the lower back. Ergoshape shoulder straps allow ample freedom of movement for your arms. It's got padded handles that you'll really appreciate on longer backpacking trips. The spacious front access point can be opened like a suitcase – no more rummaging around in the dark to find your things. Gear stored in the main compartment can be organized in different compartments. Dirty laundry can be stored separately in the bottom compartment. The side stretch pockets are easily accessible even when you're wearing the pack so your water bottle and maps are always close at hand. Additional gear like a sleeping pad can be attached to the gear loops and a separate attachment point accommodates trekking poles. The front pocket offers space for things like a small towel. The height-adjustable lid of the backpack can be detached and converted into a shoulder bag so you'll have access to your necessities while the rest of the pack is stored away on the bus or train. The Astrum EVO is primarily made from recycled materials. The VAUDE Green Shape label ensures environmentally-friendly, functional products made from bluesign® certified, sustainable materials.

    I Used this Backpack around 2 years und bought it because I like the brand philosophy and that the backpack is produced really substainable. But in fact, it is far away from substainable. After my 7 month travels the metal sticks in the back were poking through the bottom of the pack pack. The bottom got so manny holes that I couldn’t patch them because they where just to many and the pockets for bottles are so thin that they got ripped so much that I can’t use them anymore. Also the chest belt just ripped off, the mounting points of the shoulder straps to the metal frame broke so it is uncomfortable to carry and the plastic in side the waste belt put holes through it so it also is uncomfortable to wear. Shortly after my Travel der zipper of the upper pocket also broke. So unfortunately I can’t recommend that bag and also it’s sad that after 2 years this backpack is so destroyed that I can’t fix it anymore and I need a new one :(

Backpack sizes

Some of the backpacks' product names include size information. The designation "M" stands for medium, i.e. a medium size. This medium size is universally suitable and is perfect for most users. "L" stands for Large, i.e. a large size, "XL" for Extra Large, an extra large size. If no specific size information appears in the product name, it is usually a standard size.

A few tips on choosing the right zip position: Right-handed people choose a sleeping bag with the zip on the left, as they can comfortably reach across the body to the zip with their right hand. Left-handed people choose a sleeping bag with a zip on the right so that they can easily reach the zip with their left hand. If you want to combine two sleeping bags, make sure you choose one with a zip on the right and one with a zip on the left. The choice of sleeping bag should also take into account the position of the tent entrance so that you can always get in and out comfortably.

How to measure correctly?

To ensure your VAUDE clothing fits perfectly, it is important to take your measurements correctly. Here's how:

  • Chest: Measure the circumference at the widest point of your chest – ideally while standing upright with your arms hanging loosely at your sides.
  • Waist: Measure the circumference at the narrowest point of your waist – usually just above the belly button.
  • Hips: Measure around your hips at the widest point of your buttocks.
  • Inseam: Measure straight down from the top of your inner thigh (crotch) to your ankle.
