Nothing is more important for a hike than a well-fitting hiking backpack. If you are on foot in the mountains or lowlands for hours or several days, you need a well-fitting hiking backpack with a thoughtfully designed interior. What are the characteristics of a good hiking backpack?
If you want to set out on a hike, choose the right backpack first. To ensure that nothing presses, rubs or is too heavy in the long term, it makes sense to rely on a special hiking backpack. They are designed for prolonged wear and sporting use. Soft, ergonomic shoulder straps relieve your back and ensure long-lasting wearing comfort – even with heavy loads. Soft, padded hip belts distribute the load optimally and prevent back fatigue, even during trekking tours lasting several days. The chest strap of a hiking backpack ensures stability and prevents things from sliding around when you are navigating steep passages or climbing. The way a hiking backpack interior is divided up is just as important as its fit. Most hiking backpacks have an extra compartment for a hydration pack or special side compartments for water bottles. Depending on the backpack size, the backpack interior is fitted with additional compartments: for example, with a special bottom compartment for shoes, a sleeping mat or a sleeping bag. An inner top pocket keeps your valuables safe.
And the outside of a hiking backpack also offers many options for storage. In the side and front compartments, you can store everything you’ll need to reach quickly: energy bars, a rain jacket, sunglasses, smartphone, GPS device, etc. You will have all the important things at hand without having to put down the backpack. Gear loops and special holders for hiking poles are additional options for attaching equipment to your hiking backpack.
