With paragliders, packrafts and on foot from Lake Constance to Vienna
Four Tyrolean freeriders and alpinists, Stefan Ager, Andreas Gumpenberger, Martin Sieberer and Hannes Hohenwarter, have embarked on an extraordinary adventure: an epic journey across Austria, only on foot, by paraglider and packraft. Their route takes them through seven federal states and over some of the country's most impressive natural landscapes.
Their journey began at Lake Constance and took them through Vorarlberg, Tyrol, Salzburg, Upper Austria, Styria, Lower Austria and finally Vienna. They overcame numerous challenges along the way, whether on foot over the Alps, by paraglider over deep valleys or by packraft through wild rivers. The route is heavily influenced by the topography, focusing on natural river courses and the best views.

The "ROWMADS" project impressively demonstrates how creativity and improvisation can be used to find new adventures right on your doorstep. Particularly impressive is the use of modern, lightweight materials such as paragliders and packrafts, which made the adventure possible in the first place. Although not everything always went according to plan and the adventurers sometimes had to improvise, it was precisely these unexpected challenges that made the trip so appealing.

In addition to the sporting challenge and the breathtaking landscapes, the four Tyroleans were particularly surprised by the hospitality they experienced on their trip. From a warm welcome in huts and mountain pastures to unexpected encounters that enriched their journey, they experienced Austrian culture and community at first hand.
