What is the Green Button?

The Green Button is a German government textile label that certifies textiles produced in compliance with extremely stringent social and environmental standards. The Green Button label was developed by the Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development and the German Society for International Cooperation. The aim of the Green Button is to make shopping easier for conscientious consumers and to make products from fair production recognisable at a glance – and it is thus the first government label of its kind to establish requirements that apply to both textiles and companies. Consumers can easily find the criteria used to obtain the label on the Green Button label website, which belongs to the Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development. 
The Green Button was introduced in 2019, and VAUDE was one of the first companies to have its products certified with the German state label right from the start.
