VAUDE first brought travel bags made from recycled materials to the market in the summer of 2016 with the Renascence series. Anyone wanting to travel sustainably has to start with his gear. Reducing one’s carbon footprint with bus and rail travel is also an integral part of environmentally friendly travel.
VAUDE developed the trolleys of the Olympia Series for travelers with both economical and ecological awareness. Smart and speedy two-wheel bags with practical compartments and comfortable handling will enhance any business trip or holiday. Available in three sizes (35, 70 or 95 liters) the Turin trolley is prepared for any change of scenery; so let the fun begin right from the onset – when you start packing! There’s a place for everything in the two inner compartments and, thanks to the easy-glide wheels, getting from point A to point B is a breeze. The backpack-trolley Sapporo II is sized as a carry-on and is optimal for dynamic business travel. Also on board: an extra compartment for a notebook, a tablet cover and a smart organizer to bring a little order to your mobile life. Shoulder straps can be taken out of the back compartment to turn the trolley into a backpack in a few simple steps. An interesting detour that takes you off the beaten path? No problem! After all, the best finds between the hotel and a meeting room usually can’t be reached by taxi.
In addition to an environmentally friendly selection of materials (the primary material is made from recycled PET bottles, certified by the bluesign® system) VAUDE has achieved peak performance at all levels. Fluorocarbon (PFCs) for waterproof finishes have been absolutely taboo at VAUDE since the Greenpeace Detox Commitment. VAUDE’s product developers take sustainability criteria into account from the very start – during the design process of all of its stylish Packs ’n Bags. Durability plays a central role for the Green Shape product philosophy. So components such as wheels, zips, buckles and the telescoping handle are as robust as possible and can also be easily repaired. If anything should break, VAUDE offers instructions and replacement parts in cooperation with ifixit for the most common repairs.
The new models of the Olympia series will be available in well-stocked retail stores starting in spring 2018. In addition to classic black, a brighter olive tone and dark sea blue are also in the line-up. “Are you ready for take off?”
