Product Description
Down sleeping bag for extreme conditions
  • 4-season (all year, especially for cold conditions), very warm
  • body contoured mummy shape
  • eco-friendly and fair manufacturing
Ready for the next ice age: our lightweight down sleeping bag for extreme alpine activities. This expedition sleeping bag has a sophisticated V-chamber design and is filled with 800 grams of high-quality 800-fill power goose down obtained in accordance with the Responsible Down Standard (RDS). The bag's cut is optimized for alpine use. A thick thermal collar on the hood reduces heat exchange and efficiently prevents cold from penetrating the bag. A darker lining was used to accelerate drying in the sun. The Alpstein 800 DWN sleeping bag can be attached to an insulation pad to prevent it from getting twisted in the night or slipping off for improved thermal performance of the sleeping system. The textile materials are certified according to the bluesign® standard. The VAUDE Green Shape label stands for environmentally friendly, functional products made from sustainable materials.

RDS

Goose and duck down are a wonder of nature! They provide outstanding thermal insulation paired with breathability at a very low weight . We exclusively use down from humanely treated animals that is certified by the independent Responsible Down Standard (RDS). This is very important to us. And it just feels good. Find out more about Responsible Down Standard.

Eco Finish

This product features our water repellent Eco Finish. Applied to the surface of your VAUDE product, it causes rainwater to simply bead up on the surface – without the use of environmentally-harmful fluorocarbons (PFC). Mummy

The classic sleeping bag shape. The mummy cut is recognized by its conical shape: the sleeping bag narrows toward the feet. Its body hugging shape minimizes the amount of air that needs to be warmed up for better thermal efficiency. The cut also means that less material is used than in other shapes. This makes the sleeping bag lighter at a comparable thermal performance and it can be packed down smaller.

V-Baffles

The V-chamber construction has proven to be a particularly effective design. Not only does it prevent the migration of the down, but its alternating angled layout makes it practically impossible for cold bridges to form.

90/10 Daune

90/10 down fill guarantees optimal insulation  properties at a minimal weight. We use a white goose down with 850 cu.in fill power in our Serniga sleeping bags; in the Ice Peak series models we use white duck down with 650 cu.in. fill power, measured using the DIN EN 12130 norm. For our VAUDE clothing program we use only white goose down with 850 cu.in fill power.
