Riding away from an alpine hut on your transalp adventure – not a cloud in the sky, but it's cold – and a winding 1000 m descent is waiting. The thin jersey that you wore yesterday on the sweaty ascent to last night's goal finish doesn't stand a chance today. Lucky for you, you remembered to bring along your Minaki Light Jacket, which was designed just for occasions like this. So slip it on and get moving!
Insulated, breathable and fast-drying
The Minaki Light Jacket delivers warmth exactly when you need it most – when the wind picks up on your ride or the temperature drops unexpectedly. It has S.Café® recycled polyester insulation that's made with used coffee grounds. The fabric is pleasantly warm, quick-drying and has odor-inhibiting properties.
Due to its small pack size, you can easily find a spare corner of your pack for the Minaki Light Jacket, the tight-fitting hood, cuffs and lower hem prevent annoying drafts. Nevertheless, the Minaki Light Jacket is also comfortably breathable – insulation is only used where it's most needed, at the front and shoulders. So this functional touring companion is a far cry from your bulky winter jacket.
No matter whether you're heading out on a day tour in autumn, on a cool morning in June or taking the Minaki Light Jacket with you on a multi-day tour – it provides comfortable warmth without added bulk in your gear – and at the same time protects the environment, because not only is the fill recycled, VAUDE also uses eco friendly production methods for the secondary materials.
The Minaki Light Jacket comes in women's and men's versions. For women the colors are classic blue (steel blue) and a modern, berry pink (bramble) – for men it comes in black and steel blue.
Sustainable production methods
The Minaki Light Jacket is produced primarily from recycled polyester. This product is made with water resistant Eco Finish that’s manufactured without the use of fluorocarbons (PFC). The VAUDE Green Shape label stands for environmentally friendly, functional products made from sustainable, bluesign®-certified materials.
