Jura and Brenta backpacks with new Aeroflex 3D suspension

Tailwind for hikers

In the new Brenta and Jura hiking backpacks, VAUDE’s enhanced Aeroflex 3D suspension raises the bar to lofty levels when it comes to carrying your load comfortably. It wasn’t just the suspension that was refined; optics and functionality were focused on as well.

There’s one thing that’s truly important for hiking and mountain tours in warm summer weather: having a backpack with powerful, effective ventilation. Because there’s nothing more annoying than a wet, chilly back when you’re on the go. VAUDE has completely redesigned its classic Aeroflex system for the 2020 season and is now launching the Aeroflex 3D suspension. This system is impressive – not only because of its outstanding, consistent air flow but also because of its excellent wearing comfort.

A drier back for hiking

VAUDE has taken on the issue sweat-infused hiking using scientific methods. Hikers in particular benefit from good ventilation. They also have to be able to rely on their pack’s suspension, even on long hikes. With the Aeroflex 3D suspension that will be launched in the Summer Season 2020 for our classic Brenta and Jura series of hiking backpacks, sweat soaked backs are a thing of the past. Scientific studies at the Technikum Wien have shown that heat build-up is reduced by up to 42 percent with the innovative suspension system. In addition, improved air circulation reduces moisture at your back by up to 23 percent.*

Brenta and Jura series with Aeroflex 3D suspension

The new Aeroflex 3D suspension will be used for the first time in the VAUDE backpack classics Jura and Brenta. The Jura series (18, 24 and 32 liter volumes) comprises a trio for day hikes that offer everything functional hiking backpacks need. Sophisticated compartments with side pockets, attachment point for your trekking poles and a hydration system compatibility are standard for all three. There’s also a practical rain cover on board.

The Brenta series (models with 24, 30, 36+6 and 44+6 liter volumes) is aimed at advanced hikers in alpine terrain who are looking for highly adaptable backpacks with a high degree of versatility. Their diversity of features and flexible capacity for major day and multiday tours, hut hopping or via ferrata is truly impressive.

Key improvements

Aeroflex technology has been a key component of VAUDE backpacks for three decades. The core idea of a ventilated backpack has been continuously developed through ongoing improvements to the suspension system. In the new Aeroflex 3D, for example, the ventilation properties of the system have been further improved, the load distribution optimized and the ventilation properties of the straps have also been refined. The suspension system is now more adjustable than its predecessor – the series is distinguished by a continuous SBL (Shifting Back Length). This allows the backpack to be optimally adjusted to varying torso sizes. Last but not least, a clean look was also important. The Aeroflex 3D suspension fits perfectly into the technical design of the backpack.

Sustainable manufacturing for sustainable hiking enjoyment

The Jura and Brenta backpacks have been manufactured in accordance with the environmentally-friendly bluesign® criteria. They are also water-repellent thanks to PFC-free Eco Finish. 50 % of the primary material comes from recycled PET bottles in the Brenta models. Like most VAUDE backpacks, these new hiking enthusiasts bear the Green Shape label for environmentally friendly and socially fair manufacturing.
