VAUDE has been developing high-quality tents for outdoor use since the early ’80s. Numerous patents and reliable models in the highest quality have established the company’s reputation as a renowned tent specialist. VAUDE’s developers in southern Germany work together closely with DAC, an aluminium tent pole specialist from South Korea, which also manufactures its special pole connectors and tests the tents’ storm stability in its own wind tunnel.
The tents of the 4-season category are spacious yet lightweight companions throughout the year and offer enough room for three to four people, whether for trekking tours in Scandinavia or cycling tours through Peru. We can bet that Mark tents from VAUDE have already been pitched on all continents of the planet. They can withstand wind and weather — even in high alpine regions — and are extremely easy to set up because the inner and outer tents are pre-connected and set up as one.
The flysheet made of 40 D ripstop polyamide is siliconized on both sides and can withstand a water column of 3,000 mm. The laminated tent floor is incredibly robust (40 D ripstop polyamide, 10,000 mm) so you can pitch it anywhere rock, sand, snow, a muddy meadow — and it can also withstand the formic acid that ants secrete. Thanks to its stormproof construction and rainproof vents, the tent guarantees an exceptionally good indoor microclimate making even longer periods of foul weather that much easier to sit out — without coming down with cabin fever.
Thanks to ongoing design development and ever lighter materials, it’s now possible to make spacious and stable tents with a weight under 3 kg. But the ingenious construction still forms the foundation of the successful Mark tents.
The windproof Mark construction
Like the name says, the patented Mark construction is used in all Mark tents. They’re fast to pitch, truly spacious, and feature great wind stability — perfect for adventures in the mountains. Mark tents are attached to the poles with shock cords, reducing the amount of tent material that can catch the wind — so they remain stable even in high winds. The shock cords are wrapped around the free standing tent pole construction for an unbeatably fast set up. Even first timers can pitch the tent in under 3 minutes.
Guaranteed environmentally friendly and long lasting
As Europe's most sustainable outdoor outfitter, VAUDE is committed to ecology in its tent department as well. In the new Mark tents, for example, the southern German specialists have completely eliminated the use of harmful fluorocarbons (PFC) and the plasticizer PVC.
VAUDE's high-end tents (Category 3-Season UL and higher) have a 5-year warranty. If a pole or zip breaks, the VAUDE repair service in Tettnang can help. They’ve got spare parts there for anything — even for the first Mark tent from 1988.
The new VAUDE Mark tents are available as 3-person or 4-person tents. The XT version with extended vestibule offers even more space for your gear and for cooking. These tents still come in classic green and will be available in stores starting in spring 2019.
