Bonded seams on a siliconized, water-repellent outer fabric is a technology that can only be found in VAUDE tents. With this innovative seam bonding technology, VAUDE has achieved a new level of tear strength and waterproofness in tents in 2017.
The outdoor specialist is launching four new ultra-light tents with siliconized seam bonding in the Summer Season 2020 for weight-oriented trekkers and mountaineers – most notably, the Lizard Seamless 2-3P. The lightweight and stormproof double-wall tent in a stable, single arch construction shaves off 1.65 kg in weight, but not a gram in living comfort. The flysheet made of durable 20 D ripstop polyamide withstands a water column of 3,000 mm. A pole sleeve that’s closed on one end creates a very clean, modern look and simplifies the tent set up. Improved cross ventilation with rainproof vents ensures plenty of fresh air for excellent air quality inside the tent, while the double pitching construction gives the tent even great stability and makes it possible to stay dry while pitching the inner tent in the rain. With just one central tent pole, the tent can be set up in a flash and is stormproof thanks to 10 pegs and two guy ropes.
Adventures with minimal weight
Due to its low weight (just 1,650 grams including the pegs) and the simple and quick set up, it’s the perfect choice for weight-optimized camping, trekking or mountain tours. The tent takes up less space than a 1.5 liter bottle in your pack. This makes it a real favorite for longer trekking tours – from Alaska to Tierra
del Fuego! But this mobile homebase is also a great choice for bike packing or microadventures closer to home as well.
Greener outdoor living
Also noteworthy is the Green Shape label, which stands for resource-saving and fair production. VAUDE does not use PFC-waterproofing for tents as well, and employs a special "Green anodizing" process for the aluminium poles.
VAUDE offers a 5-year guarantee on all of its high-end tents. In addition, the outdoor specialist operates a comprehensive Repair Service department. So even if a bond between the seams does happen to loosen, it can still be repaired.
