Product Description
Versatile synthetic fill sleeping bag
  • can be used as a blanket or a lightweight sleeping bag
  • primarily made from recycled and biobased materials
Green to the core! The Green Core Altmann 400 SYN is a lightweight, extremely versatile, fully outfitted hybrid sleeping bag — and is made primarily from recycled raw materials. Planning a quick mountain adventure on your next summer trip? Need a lightweight layer for your next road trip in your motor home? Want to cool your green conscience and find the right bag in the process? The Green Core Altmann 400 SYN is the answer you’re looking for — it’s the green Swiss Army knife of the sleeping bag world. True versatility — as an ultralight and compact summer and transitional seasons sleeping bag, as a “quilt system” in combination with an insulated pad with a welded edge, as a trapezoid shaped blanket on warm nights or as a poncho for a sunset or the beach. It also features a “quilt concept” for lightweight yet comfortable sleeping. You’ve got your insulation pad or air mattress along anyway — one of these will provide enough insulation from the ground, and you can open up the bag and use it as a quilt. This not only saves weight and distributes the synthetic fill more efficiently, it also allows greater freedom of movement for a comfortable night’s sleep. The Green Core Altmann 400 SYN is both rugged and made with sustainable manufacturing. The outer material is made from recycled polyamide (85% rec PA / 15% EL) and the inner lining is made from 100% recycled polyester. The fill consists of PrimaLoft® Silver Natural Blend Insulation. We used kapok natural fibers for this innovative fill — a renewable raw material. They feature a hollow core for superior insulation and provide excellent moisture management thanks to a blend with recycled polyester for maximum sleeping comfort. Zips and cord stoppers are made from castor oil — you just won’t find a greener night’s sleep than with the Green Core Altmann 400 SYN! The VAUDE Green Shape label stands for environmentally-friendly, functional products made from sustainable materials. #multiuse #ecofair #unique

EcoPaxx

EcoPaXX is a bio-based plastic. Normally, plastics are made from petroleum. In order to save this finite fossil resource, we have been looking for an alternative made from a renewable raw material. 70% of EcoPaXX is made from castor oil. The hardy castor oil plant, also known as palm of Christ, grows without additional irrigation on barren soil that would be unsuitable for growing food. We use the oil, which is pressed from the plant’s beans, to make robust polyamide fibres for our clothing as well as for making recyclable zip fasteners, buttons and hooks. Primaloft-Silver-Ins-Natural-Blend

In this product we use a new type of PrimaLoft® insulation with plant based down. The large fruits of the kapok tree contain fluffy, lightweight and silky fibers that look like cotton wool. These biobased fibers provide excellent heat storage and moisture management. PrimaLoft® Silver Insulation Natural Blend is made of 30 % kapok and 70 % PrimaLoft® ultra fine fibers of which two thirds come from post-consumer recycled PET bottles to conserve fossil resources. It keeps you warm, dries quickly, is easy to care for, long-lasting and preserves our planet’s limited resources. More information about PrimaLoft® Silver Insulation Natural Blend.

Eco Finish

This product features our water repellent Eco Finish. Applied to the surface of your VAUDE product, it causes rainwater to simply bead up on the surface – without the use of environmentally-harmful fluorocarbons (PFC). Eco Finish protects you from the rain and helps keep nature clean. Find out more about Eco Finish.

Mummy

The classic sleeping bag shape. The mummy cut is recognized by its conical shape: the sleeping bag narrows toward the feet. Its body hugging shape minimizes the amount of air that needs to be warmed up for better thermal efficiency. The cut also means that less material is used than in other shapes. This makes the sleeping bag lighter at a comparable thermal performance and it can be packed down smaller.

Thermal Collar

blanket

The position of the zip lets you fully open the sleeping bag and use it as a comfortable blanket.

coat

This sleeping bag is not only useful for sleeping; when quickly adjusted, you can also wear it as a poncho or coat. Whether on cold evenings under the stars or on morning's with the first cup of coffee, warmth is a given.

stow_away_hood

This sleeping bag lets you roll up the hood and store it easily in the collar, so you can keep an eye on everything.
