Everybody's talking about sustainability these days – with the Elope Jacket you'll also be wearing it directly on your body. This is because the jacket is primarily made of environmentally friendly, recycled materials. The hard-wearing outer fabric is made of 100 % recycled polyester and recycled raw materials are used exclusively for the lining materials.
Recycling protects our climate, environment and resources
Almost half of the VAUDE Trekking collection for Summer 2021 already consists of textiles made with recycled materials. For VAUDE's CEO, Antje von Dewitz, raw material recycling is a key future strategy for sustainable products. "Pollution from plastic waste is one of the many environmental problems of modern times. By using recycled materials, we can help to ensure that valuable raw materials are reused, that fewer emissions are produced in manufacturing and that overall, fewer fossil fuels are exploited. This is why we want to significantly increase the proportion of recycled materials in our products over the next few years, while at the same time working on biobased material innovations. Our target: moving away from oil, moving towards renewable and sustainable solutions."
Big effect – small packing size
Preserving what you love and preserving natural resources – this is what the Elope Jacket is all about. Whether it's a day trip, a hut hopping weekend or a journey around the world – the Elope Jacket provides solid weather protection for outdoor lovers with an ecological conscience. It'll free up your mind so you can focus on the truly important things while hiking. The jacket can be packed down small in its own inner pocket so you can take it with you wherever you go. It easily fits in the side pocket of the backpack or even a shoulder bag.
