New Generation of Recycled Bags Series: sporty, casual, eco-friendly

From bottle to bag

Since 2009, the Recycled bags and backpacks have been some of VAUDE’s absolute best-sellers. This is no wonder, after all these eco-trendsetters made from recycled PET bottles are not only stylish but also highly practical, and indispensable companions for modern everyday life. Now, VAUDE has reworked the series with some minor design updates and added two new models.

VAUDE is particularly proud of its recycled bags. After all, the outdoor specialist from south Germany clearly demonstrates just how stylish environmental protection can be. From old PET bottles, which are crushed, cleaned and spun to make new yarn, VAUDE manufactures new bags. This not only conserves raw materials, but also reduces CO2 emissions and saves energy in the production process.

In this next generation, there are four bags and four backpacks to choose from. As a common feature, all series models bear the PET label in their names. In new designs, these recycled bags proudly display their recycled material origins. This is especially evident in the color coordinated synthetic buckles with their striking, marbled look. The inner fabric with its subtle print also pays tribute to the previous life as a PET container.

The water-repellent, PFC-free, Eco Finish treatment, which all bags have, is also environmentally friendly. The larger backpacks such as PETimir II and PETair even have integrated rain covers to boast of. After all, a short rain shower is really no reason to stay home. Both backpacks are also well suited as office packs, featuring integrated laptop compartments. Those more athletically inclined reach for the PETair, because with its ventilated Aeroflex mesh back it allows you to arrive at work without tale-telling marks of your bike commute. It is clear that this much eco commitment must be honored with the Green Shape label.

The new Recyled series models will be available starting August 2017. With a wide range of colors to choose from, from earthy gray and brown tones to an autumnal berry red, which is sure to appeal to female customers in particular.
