If you want to conquer vast powder slopes and narrow colouirs on ski or snowboard, you’ll have to invest in a few more meters of altitude after you exit the ski lift. As a reward, you’ll have the perfect line – and usually all to yourself. VAUDE has developed the new Back Bowl range of apparel for just this type of snow-hungry freestyler. With a waterproof Ceplex Pro membrane and a robust polyamide outer shell, the Back Bowl Series offers weather protection for freeriding and downhill-oriented ski touring.
The Back Bowl Jacket is light enough for touring, features a casual cut and, thanks to the technical polyamide outer shell, is not only robust but also absolutely waterproof and windproof with a Ceplex Pro membrane. An integrated snowskirt and water-resistant zips make it clear that the jacket loves flying through hip deep powder. The ski jacket has several practical pockets for lift tickets, hats, gloves and energy bars. The hood fits over your ski helmet and, along with a high collar, protects against icy winds and falling snow.
The matching Back Bowl Pants also feature a casual cut. The outer polyester layer integrates elastane to give the pants stretch for full freedom of movement on wide turns. Long ventilation zips and a highly breathable Ceplex Pro membrane are used to better regulate your microclimate on strenuous ascents or after challenging descents. In addition, the tour pants have several practical pockets for things like your avalanche transceiver, ski lift pass and an energy bar. Protection against sharp ski edges is provided by tough Cordura® reinforcements on the legs.
The technical Back Bowl Fleece hoody completes the freeride series as a midlayer and is so comfortable, you won’t want to take it off after a day of skiing in the mountains.
The Back Bowl series from VAUDE will be available for men and women starting Fall 2017.
