VAUDE & Globetrotter launch repair partnership

  • new service for VAUDE customers: Repair in certified Globetrotter workshops
  • international expansion of the partnership concept planned

Tettnang, 17.10.2024 - "Repair instead of throw away" - this is the motto of the International Day of Repair, which takes place on October 19. In keeping with this, VAUDE is launching a new initiative for a long product life: With immediate effect, the outdoor brand is cooperating with the renowned specialist retailer Globetrotter when it comes to repairs. As part of this service partnership, VAUDE products can be repaired directly on site in nine Globetrotter stores - with more stores to follow. VAUDE is also in the process of expanding the partnership concept internationally: European specialist retailers Transa and Bever will soon be integrated. With the repair partnerships, VAUDE wants to further improve the service for its customers and at the same time promote responsible consumption.

"The collaboration with Globetrotter is a perfect example of how two companies with the same values - innovation, sustainability and a focus on our customers - can create something great together. Together we are extending the lifespan of outdoor products and conserving resources," says Jan Lorch, VAUDE Sales & CSR Director.

Joint service from VAUDE & Globetrotter

VAUDE customers were already able to have minor repairs carried out by specialist retailers. With the new, comprehensive repair partnership, this offer is now being significantly expanded. Thanks to Globetrotter's own repair workshops, even more complex repairs can now be carried out professionally on site using original spare parts - regardless of the place of purchase or warranty. This makes it easier and faster for customers to have their equipment repaired - and expert advice can be provided directly on site. VAUDE ensures that all participating stores carry out repairs in accordance with their own high quality standards.thanks to professional repair and care, high-quality outdoor equipment can offer many years of full functionality for outdoor sports activities. Another benefit of the partnership: shipping routes and therefore CO2 emissions are saved.

"We want to make sustainable action as easy as possible. Thanks to the service partnership with VAUDE, we can now offer certified repairs for VAUDE products in many of our workshops - directly on site, quickly and easily," says Christiane Gawlik, Product Lifecycle Manager Globetrotter. VAUDE products can now be repaired in the Globetrotter stores in Berlin, Dresden, Düsseldorf, Frankfurt am Main, Hamburg-Barmbek, Leipzig, Regensburg, Trier and Wiesbaden. Trickier repairs can also be carried out in the central Globetrotter workshop in Ludwigslust or directly in the VAUDE repair workshop at the company headquarters.

Advantages for customers and retailers

For customers, the partnership means a direct and simple point of contact for repairs, with the certainty that these will be carried out in accordance with VAUDE standards. Specialist retailers benefit from an additional service offering in their stores and can demonstrate their commitment to sustainability on site.

VAUDE repair network continues to grow

The VAUDE repair network is being further expanded. Further Globetrotter stores are to be added next year. By the end of the year, Transa in Switzerland and Bever in the Netherlands will be integrated as major European specialist retail partners. VAUDE plans to continuously expand its repair partnerships.

Repair offers and recycling concepts at VAUDE

With the new partnership concept, VAUDE is expanding its extensive repair offering, which ranges from the repair workshop with around 20 employees at the company location to repair instructions and spare parts on the online platform iFixit and cooperation with repair cafés. VAUDE has introduced a repair index to ensure that the reparability of products is taken into account from the very first moment of product development. "We are convinced that circular concepts are an important approach to preserving our planet. That is why we have also introduced our rental service VAUDE Rent or our new second-hand web store and are pursuing further innovative concepts in this direction," says Jan Lorch.
